Travelling is confusing. You’ll get lost, countless times. You’ll constantly hear the language you can’t decode at all, walking through unfamiliar roads will be your everyday routine. Yet, heaps of people still enjoy these. Nevertheless, a little help from co-travellers wouldn’t hurt, right? So I piled up some tools that can ease up your life in travelling, I personally use all these services and products.
ACCOMMODATION
A MARY ROAD'S BEST HOSTELS - I have been using hostels since I started travelling way back in 2015. I compiled them together sorted by countries.
AGODA - is well-known reliable booking site in Asia. I have used this platform, I can’t recommend this amazing portal highly enough.
AIRBNB - is a perfect alternative way of finding accommodation, especially in Europe. I personally used this and I loved it. It gave me the chance to feel home away from home and find more suitable accommodation depending on my needs. Get your $40 off on your first trip!
BOOKING.COM - is useful for finding cheap deals across the world. What I enjoy most is the long-range option of their reviews ratings. You can easily see which hostel is good for meeting people or which one has great locations. It's definitely one of my favourite accommodation booking sites.
HOTELSCOMBINED - is an awesome app that pulls out the cheapest and most flexible accommodations across the world to help you find the one that suits your need best. I personally have used this app a couple of times in Southeast Asia, especially when I’m looking for options that most booking platforms doesn’t offer.
HOSTELWORLD - is the young traveller’s best buddy. They have large compilations of affordable hostels around the globe.
BLOGGING TOOLS
A2 HOSTING - Since my blog, A Mary Road, have grown so much, I had to upgrade my hosting and to make sure that my site is running smoothly 24/7. If you are looking for a hosting that can manage your big sites, I highly recommend them. They also have a very fast and friendly customer support.
NAMECHEAP - For thos are on the budget and also looking for affordable hosting for their blog or business, take a look at Namecheap, some of my sites are hosted with them and I can't be any happier.
SITEGROUND - is easy to use, affordable and has good support. I had a lot of trouble when I was starting my blog, I also tried plenty of hosting companies, but only SiteGround meet my needs in blogging. I always host my new sites on SiteGround.
PAYONEER - If you are working online or planning to do so, one of the best way to get paid is through Payoneer. A lot of brands and customers prefer to use Payoneer as well compared to direct bank transfer or Paypal(which I personally think has really high fees every time I receive or send a payment). Less fees, higher conversion rate, plus secured system - make sure you have your own account with them.
THRIVE THEMES - is what I used to build my website in terms of designing. If you are looking to upgrade your site's design, I highly recommend them.
TRANSPORTATION
SKYSCANNER -is definitely one of my favourite apps of all time! You can access the website to find the cheapest travel deals everywhere in the world. The flexibility options of date, destination, and even your budget are the best feature you can find on the web!
12GO.ASIA - is my on-the-go website when booking a bus, trains, or ferries around Southeast Asia, they cover all major bus companies across Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, and the Philippines to give enough options to choose from.
FLIXBUS - for a more affordable bus routes in Europe, this is what I highly recommend. I personally used their service a couple of time in Denmark and in Poland.

GETYOURGUIDE - for more affordable tours, I would suggest this tour company. They offer wide range of tours all over the world
KLOOK - a tour booking website that offers very cheap tours all over Southeast Asia
VIATOR - is another search engine website for tours around the world
ONLINE SHOPPING
AMAZON UK - Buy things that you need before hitting the road. It's harder to find specific travel items you need once you are in a foreign country.
AMAZON US - A lot of travel items that are available in the US cannot be found in other parts of the world.
Be a responsible traveller. Check these useful eco-friendly travel accessories.
AMAZON AU - Amazon just launched in Australia in the beginning of 2018, if you are going on a trip, don't forget to check out this world's leading online store for your travel gears.
TRAVEL ASSISTANCE
iVisa - They will assist you to get your visa hassle free! All you need to do is ready your documents and iVisa will do the rest! They also offer free advice for what you will be needing to process your visa smooth and fast.
IMG GLOBAL - I highly recommend IMG Global for your inernational travel insurance, they are affordable and very reliable! They also accommodate expats, which I personally find useful!
SAFETYWING - A travel insurance best for long-term travellers, you can extend the coverage dates without a hassle and at reasonable price
WORLD NOMADS - Another travel that I truly like. This company is a little pricier, however, their coverage is amazing. Best for those travelling while doing over the top activities and carrying expensive gadgets and travel tools.
TRAVEL GEARS
SUDIO - Headphones play a big r ole for both in travelling and in my work. Long-ass flight would have me crying if I failed to pack a set of headphones for such long journeys. CABINZERO - Say goodbye to expensive luggage fees use a cabin-sized bag just like what I have been carrying throughout my travels!
TEP WIRELESS - If you are going to travel long-term and will be hopping to different countries, I suggest you get TEP Wireless especially if you have to work on your computer whilst travelling. No more buying sim cards in every country that you visit, bring your own WiFi with you and never be disconnected again!
MENSTRUAL CUP - I personally use menstrualcup and loving it! I always find it hard to find my sanitary needs whilst travelling when it’s time of the month, some rural areas don’t even sell anything for this lady’s business. Since I started using a menstrual cup, I never have to worry about risking my health and my travel budge too!
LONG-TERM TRAVEL TOOLS
MYTEFL - Are you planning to teach English whilst travelling? Do you plan to volunteer as an English teacher? Perhaps sustain your travels through teaching English?
