Hello Tito,

I do find it strange too, if you are transiting only and not crossing the immigration office, you should be able to connect in South Africa. I found this info on VFS: https://www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/uk/transit_visa.html

In situations like this, I always find it best to contact the Embassies of the countries I'm transiting through and get an email printed as proof.

Unfortunately, I don't know any sites that focuses on transit visa information but I'll keep an eye and add it on this comment thread.

Hi Mary,

Several years ago, I was travelling from Zambia to Mozambique. Since there was no direct flight, I had to transit via Johannesburg, So. Africa. However, I was denied boarding in Zambia. According to the immigration in Zambia, I must have a South African visa even I'm only in transit. Visa on arrival in Mozambique will not help if transiting thru So. Africa.

I find this strange and very inconvenient. Is there a way to determine the visa requirements of certain countries for pax in transit?

Thank you,
Tito Gonzaga

In reply to <a href="https://amaryroad.com/philippines-passport-holder/comment-page-39#comment-4402">albert</a>.

Hi Albert,

Thanks for the feedback, the costs of visas changes very often, also the prices depends on a few things like the number of entries, type of visa, and validity, to name a few, sometimes the prices for the minor is also different. Adding prices can lead to more confusion.

I'm not sure about the prices of visas to Australia and New Zealand if applying in the US, however, the Australian tourist visa if you apply in the Philippines is AUD$140 and NZ tourist visa is USD$165. Perhaps you can compare these information to the prices in the US. If you are applying through the Embassy, often, the prices are the same.

Hope this helps.

I think it would be helpful if the cost of visas for the countries that require them for Philippine passport holders be included in your information.

I am also curious to know if the costs of an Australian and New Zealand visas for a Philippine passport holder are cheaper if you apply in the Philippines versus if you apply in the United States as a green card holder,

Thank you.

Hi Aj, you need to apply for a Chinese visa at the Chinese Embassy in Manila. From your application you can choose the validity, and from there you will see the cost. I haven't done it myself, so I don't have an article for it yet. But hopefully soon!
