Now that you have purchased your own domain name and have installed WordPress, we’re ready to let the ball rolling and start writing and publishing articles on your brand new blog site!

When I started working on WordPress, I was completely in shock how confusing it was! I couldn’t even find any guide that I could understand easily as most articles are sandwiched with terms my mind barely understands. In this article, we will take it as slowly as possible to make sure you can keep up and especially, you understand what is going on.

1. LOG IN WITH WORDPRESS

GET YOUR DOMAIN NAME & HOSTING WITH SITEGROUND – I personally use SiteGround


2. HOVER TO POST – click ADD NEW

Hover your mouse on POST on your left side. Click add new.

 

3. YOUR WORKSPACE

Get yourself familiar with your workspace. Check the screenshot above and learn the purpose of the important part of your page. Your tool box on that top is simply like your Microsoft Word, you can set your headings in the centre or left or right. Transform some texts in bold or italic, use special characters, anything you want!

 

4. RIGHT SIDEBAR – CATEGORY & TAGS

These features could be confusing at first, take it easy and give yourself ample fo time to understand every bit.

 

5. THIS WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE

6. PERSONALISE URL (PERMALINK)

Make sure to personalise the URL (Permalink) first before hitting publish to avoid errors.

 

7. HIT PUBLISH

 

When everything seems good and clear, hit the publish button for your first ever article!
